Weekly Wins 1/31 – 2/6

It’s hard to believe January has already come and gone, but as we head into February, we’re back with another edition of #WeeklyWins to help make sure you have fun stuff to do every day this week.

Brand new cocktail bars, the Auto Show, Brady vs the Eagles D, free bingo, career workshops, and more fun things to do are coming your way, so open up your Google calendar and let the planning begin.

Wednesday January 31

– Learn how to make your pet Instagram famous by attending “Insta-Pets” hosted by the Animal Rescue League of Arlington. The most popular animal Insta accounts in DC (like @sebastianlovesluna) will be on hand to share tips and tricks.

Thursday, February 1

– Craving whimsical and well-crafted cocktails? Morris American Bar is about to become your go-to drink spot in Shaw. It opens 2/1, but you better get there early because there is no standing room and no reservations. Check out our #FrayLife First Look at Morris to whet your appetite.

Friday, February 2

– The 2018 Washington Auto Show rolls on through the weekend. Hit up the convention center to see over 500 new cars from leading brands, celebrity appearances, art exhibits, and more.

– Speaking of events continuing into the weekend, Alexandria Restaurant Week is still going strong, so check out the options and take advantage of the discounts when you’re making Friday night dinner plans.

Saturday, February 3

Ride the Black History Bus to the Eastern Shore for a deeper look at Harriet Tubman  and the Underground Railroad. The bus trip departs from Ben’s Chili Bowl (1213 U Street) at 8:30am and includes multiple historic stops.

– The cold weather (thankfully) won’t last forever, but as long as it’s here, you may as well make the most of it by getting out of DC and hitting the slopes. If you want to shred and still make it home for dinner, check out these 6 resorts nearby.

Glow Tube with DC Fray. Ok, so Saturday’s glow snow tubing trip is officially sold out (so is the one on 2/17), but limited spots remain for our trip on 3/3. If you’re missing out on the first two, sign up this weekend to lock in your spot for the third (and final).

Sunday, February 4

– We don’t care if you’re rooting for Tom Brady to win his 900th Super Bowl, or for Philly to win its first. We just care about you throwing a party epic enough to make you wish Monday actually was a national holiday. Here are some #FrayLife tips for throwing a FOMO-inducing Super Bowl party.

Monday, February 5

– While we’re talking about free bingo, don’t forget you can also catch the action at Kingfisher every Monday night from 8-10.

– Ward off the Monday blues with an early week #datenight. Need some ideas? Here are 6 that are perfect for cold weather.

Tuesday, February 6

Something Rotten is a Shakespeare spoof set in the 1590s that’s received 10 Tony nominations. It’s playing throughout February at the National Theatre, starting 2/6.

– If you’re stuck in your career path and need a change, Mission Collaborative’s “New Year, New Career” interactive workshop is for you. Learn a proven career design process, meet great people, and get some personalized advice for your career goals.

What are you getting into this week? Hit us up and let us know if we missed something.
