Don’t Be Shy. Slay Single This Valentine’s Day With These DC Parties for Singles
It’s Valentine’s Day…again. At least that’s what you’re probably thinking if the only thing you’re celebrating on February 14th is another year of being single. If you had big plans of sitting on the couch with some rom-coms and ice cream, cancel them.
You’re not going to find love by staying home and wallowing away in self-pity, so go get out there and do the d*** thing! We’ve even got you covered with some happenings in DC where you can have some fun and meet other fellow singles (and maybe even leave taken).
Pre-Valentine’s Single Party
Mr. Smith’s of Georgetown is hosting a pre-Valentine’s Day party on Feb. 13, so you have the chance to meet potential date prospects for the big day. Over 100 singles are expected to attend the event filled with booze, beauties…and a sing-along piano bar!
#FrayLife Tip: Last year’s event sold out with a long waitlist, so get your tickets ASAP for a chance at love!
Single AF: A Black Singles Valentine’s Mixer
On Feb. 13, DMV 30 Somethings is hosting a black singles mixer at the Caged Bird, the newest black-owned bar to hit the streets…and it’s FREE with registration. With happy hour drink deals from 5 to 7 p.m., sip, mix and mingle your way around the place in hopes of making a connection to help you not be single AF.
Back to the 90’s Valentine’s Day Party
Alone on Valentine’s Day? As if. You don’t need a honey to come to our Back to the 90’s Valentine’s Day Party…just bring yourself (or some friends). The DC Fray squad has thrown together a V-Day bash catered to people of all relationship statuses, set with live performers, quick bites and a cash bar ready to take you back to the 90’s. Grab your tickets before it sells out!
Single at the Sally: Shred Your Ex
Well, this one is exactly what you think it is: a chance to shred your ex. Literally. The Sally, a new American-fusion restaurant located at the Fairfax at Embassy Row, is hosting a singles happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. with $5 on-tap beers and wines, and a bar top shredder for guests to shred photos of their exes and start a new.
Mixology Class for Singles
Mix it up with a mixology class, Valentine’s Edition, at Cloak & Dagger! Even though the event isn’t on the actual day (it’s on Feb. 16), this is still a great chance to try something new and potentially find “the one.” Complete with an hour and a half of crafting cocktails, tasting hors d’oeuvres and mingling with other singles, you won’t be sorry you branched out. You might not find love, but at the very least you’ll learn how to make some tasty drinks.
Are you both single and balling on a budget? No worries, we’ve got you covered with some budget friendly Valentine’s ideas perfect for spending the night with friends. Don’t forget to let us in on the fun using #DCFray and #FrayLife!
