Weekly Wins: Things to Do in DC 4/4 – 4/10

April is here and DC isn’t fooling around with fun things to do this week. The Nats are back in town for their home opener at the start of the week, and the week ends with free ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s.

There’s also the 38th annual photography show, Blossom Bash, National Pillow Fight Day, Taste the Nation, and a whole lot more to look forward to this week.

Here are our picks for the best things to do in DC over the next 7 days:

Wednesday, 4/4

– More than 100 of the world’s leading fine art photography galleries will present a range of museum-quality work including contemporary, modern, and 19th century photographs, photo-based art, video, and new media at the 38th Photography Show by Association of International Photography Art Dealers. This 3 day even goes down at Pier 94 from Wednesday – Friday.

Thursday, 4/5

– The undefeated, first place Nats started the season on the road, but they’re back in DC for their home opener against the Mets this week. Will you be there for the start of the season that will (hopefully) (finally) end with a World Series title? Whether you’re going to the game or watching from the bar, don’t miss the #FrayLife Guide to Nats Opening Day.

Friday, 4/6

– DC101 is taking over DC’s hottest new music venue when Blossom Bash comes to the Anthem. National acts Third Eye Blind and Bush will headline the show and tickets start at $55.

Saturday, 4/7

Beer Yoga goes down at Wunder Garten. All-levels of yoga practice and beer drinking experience are welcome. Wunder Garten will provide the booze, you BYOM (bring your own mat).

– Now in its 10th year, International Pillow Fight Day is coming back to DC yet again. It starts at 3pm in a small park at the northwest corner of Independence Ave and 14th St SW, between 14th and 15th. Check out the Facebook group for more info.

– Brightest Young Things takes over the Air and Space Museum for BYT Presents 2001: A Space Party. This is an exclusive, tourist-free event in the most popular museum in the world, celebrating Yuri’s Night and the 50th anniversary of Stanley Kubrick’s cinematic masterpiece 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Sunday, 4/8

National Champagne Brunch is a celebration of more than 500 prominent members of the LGBTQ community, including business leaders, elected and endorsed officials, and Victory Fund supporters from across the country. Enjoy big name speakers, great food and bottomless bubbles.

Monday, 4/9

– No Kid Hungry is one of the premier nonprofits in the country. DC Taste the Nation is one of its biggest annual fundraisers and plays a key role in helping feed children across the country. Join the city’s finest chefs, sommeliers and mixologists for a night of great food for an even better cause.

Tuesday, 4/10

– This year, the new Ben & Jerry’s District Wharf has teamed up with the Trust for the National Mall. All guests on Free Cone Day will get one complimentary scoop of a flavor of their choice. The event lasts from noon to 8pm.

– Don’t miss the last Nerds of NoMa event of the season. Spring has sprung in The District! That means it’s time to get outside and play, which is why the NoMa BID is bringing in leaders from DC’s booming and diverse recreation scene to talk shop. Learn more and get tickets.
