Turkey Time is Here Again and We Have Your November Stuffed with Fun Activities

 

 

The weather is starting to cool down, but life in the city is not. #FrayLife has your back with exciting social, active, and delicious events to help fill your social calendars with the best DC has to offer. Tag #FrayLife in your social media posts for events you think should be featured in the future, and to show us your favorite things about this city!

November 1

– Wanna hit the weights or crank out some cardio for FREE? If you are or have ever been a DC Fray player, our awesome sponsor Balance Gym is hooking you up with FREE workouts for the entire month of November. All you have to do is show up to any Balance Gym location throughout the month wearing your favorite DC Fray t-shirt and you’ll get to workout for FREE, with classes included.

Superfine! Art Fair is coming to DC until November 4. Set up in Union Market, this art fair will showcase fall art the District has yet to see. Over 300 visual artists from DC and beyond will display their work throughout 70 curated booths with prices beginning as low as $100.

– Enjoy a preview of what’s to come during DC Cocktail Week, which will occur from November 12 – November 18, by attending the DC Cocktail Week Sneak Peak Happy Hour in the Eaton Workshop at Wild Days from 5 – 7 pm. Participating restaurants and distilleries will provide tastings of their best concoctions designed for Cocktail Week, which are included in the price of admission.

Head over to the Anthem to bump with Wu-Tang Clan, an American hip hop group from Staten Island. The show starts at 8 pm, and tickets must be purchased by or accredited to the attendee.

 

November 2

– Disney’s adaptation of the Nutcracker, “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” is set to hit theaters on this day. Tickets are available at multiple theaters in the DC area.

– Experience the Latin vibes of Dia de Muertos with a Celebration at Hard Rock Café DC. We’re hooking you up with a 2-hour OPEN BAR featuring Margaritas and Mezcals and an opportunity for our resident face-painter turn you into a living death-mask art piece. Plus there will be the usual swag giveaways and general celebrations, and games you expect from a Fray event.

November 3

– Grab your friends and head to Nationals Park for a day of craft beer and seasonal brews! The DC Beer Fest will be held from noon to 8 pm and will welcome dozens of craft breweries, food trucks, games and more. Both general admission and VIP tickets are still available for purchasing.

– Join us at Grand Central in Adams Morgan for Halloween Beer Olympics from 2-7 pm. The registration fee includes beer for individual and team games, other drink specials, and the chance to win! Coordinate creative costumes with your team for an additional chance to win in the costume contest.

– Bust out your magnifying glass and head to the International Spy Museum for the Twelfth Annual Parade of Trabants. Trabants (automobiles made by communists) are a rarity here, so this event is the perfect opportunity to drop in and view the vintage cars that will be parked in front of the museum on F Street, NW. This event is not ticketed and no registration is required for attendance.

November 4

– Get up and get running at the 2018 Across the Bay 10K race. Starting near Annapolis, Maryland, this race is your once a year chance to run or walk across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, and you don’t want to miss it.

November 5

– Come shake off the rust and get back into mid season form! Join us for free flag football at South Run Rec Center at 6:30 pm, with no RSVP necessary. Anyone is welcome to come out, so grab your friends, coworkers or arch rivals and get ready to play like a pro.

– The City Winery Washington DC will be hosting award-winning vocalist, humanitarian, motivational speaker, Sarah Dash for “A Tribute to Aretha Franklin: Queen of Soul.” Dash will be performing the Aretha Franklin classics and sharing stories about her friendship with The Queen. This event is ticketed and will begin at 8 pm.

November 7

– Looking for a roommate? Romantic relationships aren’t the only relationships that are hard to come by, and SpeedRoomie Network recognizes just that. Register and head to Pennsylvania 6 for a speed dating event to find your next roomie!

– Want to get active, but without the commitment of a league? Embrace your inner athlete and join us at South Run Rec Center at 6:30 pm for free soccer open play! No RSVP necessary.

– Grammy award winning rock duo, Tenacious D, is coming to the Anthem, so be sure to secure your tickets before they sell out!

November 8

The Heurich House Museum will host a Brewmaster Tour consisting of an hour-long tour and a local craft beer tasting upon admission. This specific event will feature Bluejacket and provide attendees the opportunity to enjoy local beers while touring the museum. Can’t make it? No worries! The Heurich House Museum offers hour-long tours every Thursday through Saturday.

– If you’re looking to splurge, purchase a ticket for the Capital Food Fight hosted by DC Central Kitchen and bring your Food Channel experience to life in real time. Admission includes unlimited tastes from over 80 of the best restaurants in DC while watching four local chefs face off in a live food battle on stage judged by some of the biggest names in the culinary world.

November 9

– Embrace your wild side by joining us at the adults-only DC Fray Glow Karting Racing Experience at Summit Point Kart from 6:30- 8:30 pm. Race like a professional for a chance to win DC Fray credit to use toward any future events or leagues!

– If glow-karting isn’t your thing, head over to the National Harbor to sing and dance the night away with DC Fray and Bobby McKey’s! The dueling piano bar performers will take your requests and entertain you with live music and comedy all night.

Starting at 8 pm, the package includes Mezzanine level views with 2 beer tickets, which saves you $10 compared to normal admission and drinks. This deal is a no brainer!

– Eat your way through the EmporiYUM Food Festival returning to Dock5 at Union Market from 11 am- 6 pm. Bringing together 90 curated food and drink masters from across the country in one space, you definitely won’t leave this event on an empty stomach. No worries if you can’t make it to the kickoff of the event because it will continue into the weekend and end November 13. Admission is available for different times throughout the weekend.

November 10

– Get yourself in the Holiday spirit by heading to the Embassy of the Czech Republic from 10 am- 4 pm for the Czech Christmas Market. The event is free to attend and will feature vendors selling handcrafted items such as ornaments and jewelry, a live nativity scene, Christmas treats, and more!

– If you’re looking to get in some exercise while still enjoying your Saturday, join us on our #FrayLife x Trails & Ales Virginia Beer Hike! After a 4-mile out and back hike featuring gorgeous views of Virginia, the journey will lead you to the Virginia Beer Museum and Farm Brewery at Broad Run to have some beer and regroup after the adventure.

– We partnered with Gordon Biersch and The Brig DC to bring you The District’s 0.5K Underachievers “Run.” Join us as we kick off our Inaugural 0.5K in Navy Yard Washington DC. From 4-6:30 pm we will be at Gordon Biersch, where we will warm up for the ultimate race to The Brig DC where the party won’t stop until 9 pm. 0.5K= 0.3 miles= 1,640.42 feet= 19,685 inches. We have faith that all of you underachievers can make it to the finish line!

November 12

– Drink your way around the district in celebration of DC Cocktail Week! Grab a friend and stop in to one of 60 locations for specialty beverages from today until November 18.

– Travel back in time at the Colonial Market and Fair that is back at Mount Vernon by popular demand. The event features dozens of our country’s historic craftspeople and is tailored to all ages, but this is your last day to join the fun so get your tickets before you miss your shot.

November 14

– Coldplay’s new documentary, “A Head Full of Dreams,” is set to hit theaters worldwide on this day. Follow the band through their 20-year history and get a behind the scenes look at the creation of some of their top hits. Tickets are available at multiple theaters in the D.C. area.

November 15

– Spend your Thursday rocking out with Mayday Parade at the Fillmore Silver Spring. Tickets are still available for standing general admission.

– Not sure which wine to pair with your Thanksgiving dinner? Head over to Cork Wine Bar & Market for Burgundy and Turkey Date Bites: Cork’s 5 Bites & 5 Tastes Series from 7-9 pm and discover which wine will best fit the occasion.

November 17

– Put on your magic hat and head to Washington Magic at the Arts Club of Washington for magic and mind reading by David Morey and Savino Recine before your very eyes. Tickets include admission to the show as well as dinner and drinks.

– Join us for our DC Wine Walk and explore the city to find new bars and restaurants with our DC Fray Wine Guide! The event spans from 2-6 pm and includes a custom DC Fray Wine Glass and Wine Guide to allow participants to map out their own experience and keep track of the free samples dispersed throughout the city.

Relax and unwind with a peaceful Autumn cruise around the waters of DC. Starting at the Washington Marina Co., the Fall Fest River Cruise embraces all things fall. Happening on November 3, November 10, and November 17, this is your last chance to take the cruise and enjoy the fleeting season.

November 21

– DC Fray is hosting another weekly bingo event at Maddy’s Bar and Grille in Dupont Circle. Grab a drink and join us from 7-9 pm for free bingo games and a chance to win fun prizes! You’ve got nothing to lose.

November 22

– Happy Turkey Day! What better way to make room for your Thanksgiving feast than with a little exercise? SoulCycle is hosting a festive Turkey Burn class at each of their four locations across the city. Specific details about times and registration can be found on their website by navigating the calendar.

– Don’t feel like cooking? Have dinner at City Tap House and you won’t have to. Served from noon to 10 pm, this three course traditional Thanksgiving meal is only $30 a person featuring mulled cider and wine! Make your reservations and save yourself the trouble of cooking and cleaning.

November 23

– Retreat from the city and head to Six Flags America for a magical Holiday in the Park. The seasonal treats and decor are sure to get you excited for the holiday season and is fun for all ages. If you can’t make it for the kickoff, be sure to attend before the turn of the seasonal vibes on January 1.

– Start your Christmas shopping early at the 14th Annual Downtown Holiday Market in Penn Quarter. Stop by for good eats, good tunes, and good shopping anytime between now and December 23 to satisfy all your holiday needs.

November 24

– Get a taste of Italy at the Pastapalooza dinner at Via Umbria in Georgetown. Enjoy a pasta-centered menu and delicious wines while socializing with other attendees. Tickets are still available to treat yourself to a glimpse of an Italian lifestyle!

– After Thanksgiving comes to a close, seasons greetings of Christmas are instantly lit up across the country. Head to the 5th annual CityCenterDC Holiday Tree Lighting to spread some holiday cheer and enjoy a free festive night for all ages.

November 28

November 29

– Grab your friends and head to the National Zoo for a fun night at BrewLights at ZooLights! This is a ticketed microbrew and craft beer event that just might get you in the Holiday spirit.

November 30

– What’s the holiday season without a performance of the Nutcracker? Join the Washington Ballet’s Nutcracker experience at Warner Theatre for their opening night, or attend any time in the month of December for a holiday tradition like no other.
