If you’ve heard of “Wine and Paint” then you’ll be very familiar with this activity, but except for painting, you’ll be tap dancing instead! The idea originated when creator and long-time dancer, Lindsay Stewart (pictured below) decided to bring wine to a regular tap dancing class for her friend’s birthday to spice it up a bit. The reaction was so overwhelmingly positive that she decided to host more wine and tap dancing classes every month, thus Tipsy Tappers was born!
Tipsy Tappers is a fun activity for all types of people. Whether you’re a pro dancer or just there to learn some moves, Tipsy Tappers has classes for you. In the words of Stewart, “we have had women and men both young and old take the class – my friends love it and my grandma has even joined! This class is the perfect event for any birthday party, bachelorette party, team bonding event, or simply for any fun night out.”

Interested in signing up for a class? Currently, sign-up is available on Tipsytappers.com. There is one class a month open to the public for $10 a person with options to schedule private classes as well. If you own a pair of tap shoes, you are encouraged to bring them, but if not there are women’s tap shoes provided on a first-come-first-serve basis. Tipsy Tappers is BYOW (Bring Your Own Wine), so customers can bring their choice of wine to the class. Classes are held in Arlington at 2209 N Pershing Drive.
Looking to the future, Tipsy Tappers plans to include continuing their monthly classes and continuing to schedule private parties, as they work on teaming up with local businesses to spread the word.
