Stressing over not having a valentine?

Don’t fret it – As Leslie Knope would tell you, Galentine’s Day is the better holiday and is about “ladies celebrating ladies!”

Ariana Grande also just dropped the best album to play during your Galentine’s celebrations.  (Coincidence? We think not.) But, that’s not an excuse to sit at home and text your crush to “break up with your girlfriend, I’m bored.”

Seriously, don’t do that. The song is catchy, but rather than waste time over someone you can’t have, grab the ladies you do have and check out this six fun and Galentine’s friendly events going on in DC this week.

Bridesmaids Screening – National Museum of American History

This is the “Galentine’s” version of drinks and a movie. The National Museum of American History will host a screening of Bridesmaids on Feb. 13 at 7:55 p.m. Before the movie there will be a cocktail party, photo ops, and live music! Tickets for the party and movie are $25-40. If you’re seeing the movie only, tickets are $10.

Chocolate & Wine Pairing Tasting – City Winery

Wine helps you to forget your single, and when that doesn’t work, chocolate makes you feel better about being single. City Winery DC will celebrate Galentine’s Day on Feb. 13 with a chocolate and wine pairing event. During this 90-minute session, you will get to try various wines and mouthwatering chocolates. Tickets are $40 and the event begins at 6:30 p.m.

Galentine’s Day Brunch – Slate Wine Bar & Bistro

Nothing beats brunch with your gals! On Feb. 16, Babes with Brands will host a special brunch event at Slate Wine Bar & Bistro. Brunch starts at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $15.

Afternoon Tea – The St. Regis

Admit it, we all love to spill the tea with our friends. On Feb. 14, spill the tea and sip on tea with your gal pals at The St. Regis’ Galentine’s Day Afternoon Tea event. Savory tea sandwiches, homemade scones, and cocktails and sparkling wine will be served. You will also get to treat yourself to a gift from City Center’s Alexis Bittar pop-up shop. This is the perfect way to pamper yourself! Tea starts at 2 p.m.

Galentine’s Day at The Board Room – The Board Room

Wine is the popular beverage of choice for Galentine’s Day, and for good reason. The Board Room will have specials all night long on Feb. 14 to help you and your friends celebrate Galentine’s Day! There will be free board games, you’ll get a complimentary glass of sparkling, and 20% of all bottles of wine and sparkling!

Spiked Ice Cream Baking Class –  Mindspace

There’s no reason to stay at home and eat a tub of ice cream while watching sappy rom-coms. Head to Mindspace to cook up boozy ice cream cocktails! You’ll get to combine science and fun to create your own flavors of delicious, frozen and boozy concoctions. The class begins at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are $45-70.
