Looking for fun things to do in DC this week? Look no further.

The week starts off with a kickoff party for the 2018 Funk Parade and ends with tacos, tequila, and swing dancing.

In between, we’ve got popups, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, St. Paddy’s Day festivities, and the 2018 Stoli Key West Cocktail Classic; PLUS the A-10 basketball tournament comes to DC for the first time ever.

Wednesday 3/7

 

  UPDATED: Both the Kickoff Party and Festival Have Been Cancelled as of 3/6. The Funk Parade Kickoff Party will showcase Uptown Art House’s 2018 poster collection heading into their 5th annual festival. The party will feature live music, dance, and art. Free to attend.

– Learn about the history of influenza 100 years after the initial outbreak at an interactive evening at the Museum of Natural history. Tickets to Science of the Flu are free, but limited.

Thursday, 3/8

– Which team will represent the Atlantic 10 conference in the NCAA’s big dance? Find out when the A 10 Tournament takes over Capital One Arena for the entire weekend. Follow DC Fray on Instagram and enter our giveaway for your chance to win tickets to the championship game!

– Sip wine for a good cause at the Embassy of Croatia. Croatian Wine Tasting fundraiser benefits the Association of Croatian American Professionals and features wines from 3 regions, authentic cuisine, music and more.Tickets are $50.

– Celebrate International Women’s Day by paying homage to local artists. The Women in the Arts Pop Up Gallery will be at L2 Lounge in Georgetown from 6:30-10pm

Friday, 3/9

– Tyson’s Sheraton Hotel is the home of the 7th annual DC Bluegrass Festival. Top regional and local acts will be on hand, and you can even jam out in the band competition for a chance to take home a cash prize.

Saturday, 3/10

– The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon has been hitting DC for 7 years and the 2018 edition promises to be the biggest in the event’s history. This year you’ll enjoy more on-course music and more community engagement as you tackle a 5K, half or full marathon.

– Buffalo Billiards is the home of DC Fray’s 2018 Spring Skeeball Tournament. Get decked out in your best March Madness gear, and come compete for bar sports glory.

– St. Patrick’s Day arrives a week early when the Ireland at the Wharf Festival comes to the Waterfront. The event goes down from 2-6pm and features a beer garden, Irish food favorites, live music, and more.

Sunday, 3/11

DC’s annual St. Paddy’s Parade is a 3 hour celebration of all things Irish. Floats, marching bands, bagpipes players, dancing, and food. The parade starts at noon and runs along Constitution Ave.

– Trivia is hard. Bingo is fun. Come play for free and take home real prizes at Weekly Bar Bingo at O’Sullivan’s (hosted by DC Fray).

Monday, 3/12

– The world’s largest LGBT bartender competition and celebration returns for a fifth year when the 2018 Stoli Key West Cocktail Classic comes to Nellie’s Sports Bar. The first 100 guests get free admission and other perks, so sign up ASAP.

– Dune is a classic novel, turned cult-favorite film. Catch a screening of Dune at The Senator for free.

Tuesday, 3/13

– What’s better than taco Tuesday? Taco and Tequila Tuesday networking with the City Club of Washington. Come make some new connections while enjoying food and drink specials. Purchase any Herradura margarita and receive two FREE tacos of your choice!

– Ever wanted to learn to swing dance? If so, Tuesday is your chance to try it out for free at Jam Cellar.
