Making the Most of the Fourth in the District
July 4th is a special day for all Americans, as we remember the legendary day the Declaration of Independence was signed, birthing the United States as an independent country!
There truly is no better place to spend the fourth than in the nation’s capital. Around every corner and down every street in DC is a patriotic themed event on the fourth. You really can’t go wrong with a multitude of firework shows and parties to choose from.
However, if you want some suggestions, take a look at five 4th of July events happening this Thursday we think would be perfect for you day and night out, or even a date night!

Fireworks on the National Mall

Celebrate Independence Day in classic DC style – with fireworks on the National Mall. It’s the perfect way to end a day of celebrating our freedom, with the fireworks starting around 9:07 p.m. The fireworks are visible from various locations throughout DC and Northern Virginia.

Red, White and Blue Skies Rooftop Party

If you’re looking for a party that will keep you entertained early on in the afternoon, and all night long, look no further than The Graham Georgetown’s rooftop party. DJ EPX will have the music covered from 12-8 pm. There will also be “booze snowballs,” a backyard BBQ buffet, special red, white, and blue cocktails, and a fireworks show at 9 p.m.!

4th of July BBQ at Officina

Spice up the holiday with this Italian-style barbeque at 4 p.m. The barbeque will include roasted porchetta, local seafood, summer salads, a gnocchi bar, and dessert. Stick around for the fireworks show at the Wharf at 9 p.m. Tickets are $125-250.
