You can buy from the big guys any day of the year, so use this day as an opportunity to show your appreciation for your local mom and pop shops that keep your community grounded in its roots.

Living in DC I’m sure you’re already well aware of the large presence of local businesses, but how often do you find yourself frequenting these places for all your year-round needs? Small Business Saturday is the perfect setting for you to switch up your normal shopping routine. (And you may even find yourself starting a new one!)

Any DC neighborhood would be a good one to visit, but try exploring one that’s typically off your radar to find new local spots you never knew existed. Whether you’re looking for a good bite or a new read, Union Market is the right place to visit for all your interests.
