If you’re wondering what musicians are coming to the District soon, we have seven upcoming shows you might want to put on your calendar. Country, pop, rap, alternative, blues – there’s a little bit of everything coming to town that any music fan can appreciate. Grab a cold one and your squad, and get ready for some springtime music.
Kenny Chesney: Songs for the Saints Tour – The Anthem (April 18 & 19)

Washington is the sixth stop on Kenny Chesney’s “Songs for the Saints Tour,” named after his 2018 Caribbean inspired album. During the show, Chesney will perform hits like “Get Along” and “Better Boat” for tickets ranging from $125-$499. He will put on two consecutive shows at The Anthem, and doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Kodak Black: Dying to Live Tour – The Anthem (April 24)
At only 21 years old, Kodak Black is currently one of the most popular rappers. Despite his off-and-on trouble with the law, he’s managed to make his mark in the hip-hop music scene, and his album Dying to Live earned a No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. His single from the album, “ZEZE,” features Travis Scott and Offset, and has been extremely successful as it reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The doors for Kodak’s show will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets range from $25-$175.
Cassadee Pope – U Street Music Hall (April 27)

GRAMMY-Award nominated country star and former “The Voice” winner will bring her powerful vocals to The District and perform some of her best hits like “Wasting All These Tears,” “Think of You” and “Take You Home.” In the past, Pope has toured with big names like Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Chris Young and Rascal Flatts in the past. This time she is the headliner and will certainly make her own mark on the stage in late April. The show will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets range from $13-123.
Hellogoodbye – U Street Music Hall (May 2)
This pop rock band from Huntington Beach, California released their first album, Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs! in 2006. 13 years later, the group will bless the DC area with their funky music that will have you reliving your childhood. The show begins at 7 p.m., and tickets are $20.
Bea Miller – U Street Music Hall (May 4)
20 year old singer Bea Miller is on the come up. She got her first shot on a big stage during the 2012 season of “X Factor.” Since then, she has released three EPs and two albums, and paper Magazine even included Miller in their Predictions: “100 People Taking Over 2019” and “100 Women Revolutionizing Pop” lists. In early 2019, she released a single with Grammy-nominated artist 6lack called, “it’s not u, it’s me.” Miller’s show will start at 7 p.m., and tickets are $20.
Lil Pump – The Anthem (May 8)

Another rapper that is still on the rise of fame despite his trouble with the law is Lil Pump. He broke through when he released the song, “Gucci Gang,” which was his first Billboard Hot 100 song, which peaked at No. 3. A few months later, he released his debut album, Lil Pump. In September 2018, Kanye West released a song featuring Lil Pump that became very popular on the air waves called, “I Love It,” and now Lil Pump will headline at The Anthem in May. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the show will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $25-199.
Johnnyswim – Lincoln Theatre (May 15)
Married couple Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano (daughter of R&B legend Donna Summer), make up the group Johnnyswim. Their music, which is a combination of pop, blues and folk music, is truly a blessing to all who hear it. The group has recently released two new songs called “Flowers” and “Bridges” from their upcoming album, Moonlight, but their last albums Georgica Pond is also worth a listen. You do not want to miss the chance to hear this talented duo live. The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $40.
