With sweater weather fast approaching, it’s never too late to snag some tickets to the hottest shows in DC. Read on to find out when and where your fav artists are playing this upcoming concert season.

Childish Gambino

Capital One Arena

No other artist in 2018 has had as much of an impact on pop culture this year as Childish Gambino has. The “This Is America” musician is set to take the stage at Capital One Arena in September for what will no doubt be an incredible show. Also known as Donald Glover, the musician will kick off his tour having pulled triple duty while filming his hit FX series Atlanta, the live-action remake of Disney’s The Lion King, and Disney’s Han Solo anthology. What to expect on this tour? If his “This Is America” video is any indication, audiences will be challenged on how they interact and consume black culture. Donald Glover is also set to retire his Childish Gambino alter-ego following his fourth album release and tour, so prepare to be wowed as Donald Glover is known to leave no stone left unturned.

This genre-bending local duo has shared the stage with GoldLink, Cautious Clay, Khalid, Kilo, and recently opened for Mura Masa at the 9:30 Club and the band’s Philly stopover. Those into the local DC music scene are familiar with this powerhouse duo at venues like Otherfeels and Songbyrd Music House in Adams Morgan. Catch this duo before you can’t get tickets to their shows anymore.

Noah Gundersen

Miracle Theatre

Whether you’ve actively listened to Noah Gundersen’s music or not, chances are you’ve at least heard of some of his music as they were featured in hit shows like Sons of Anarchy, the Vampire Diaries, and Bates Motel. Gundersen’s music has shifted from being singer-songwriter centered since the release of his first album back in 2008. In his most recent album “White Noise”, Gundersen unleashes an internal turmoil that comes out in the song “The Sound” where halfway through the bridge Gundersen’s voice lurches out at the listener with a heavy punch forcing you to pay attention. No single Gundersen show is alike. This artist is someone who is beloved by his fans and you’ll only walk away from one of his shows fully invested.  

All Things Go Fall Classic

Since 2014 this DC music festival has been bringing music fans together for a weekend of revelry and fun right in the District. Happening at the Union Market in DC from October 5-7, festival attendees are in for a treat from local eateries and popular musicians. This year features 2017’s breakout “Alaska” musician Maggie Rogers, pop stars Billie Eilish, Betty Who, Carly Rae Jepsen, indie-music king Børns, and Cautious Clay. All of these musicians are no stranger to the DC music scene with Rogers, Ellish, and Clay having performed at local haunts such as U Street Music Hall and Songbyrd in the last year.

Mikaela Davis

Hailing from Rochester, NY Mikaela Davis is a welcome surprise to the indie-pop music scene. A classically trained harpist, Davis had every intention of pursuing classical music and joining a symphony. However, she felt more drawn to performing her own compositions and moved to Brooklyn, NY. However, Davis didn’t really feel at home in the Big Apple and found refuge back in Rochester, NY. making it her home ever since. You’ll instantly fall in love with the ethereal sounds of Davis in her songs “Other Lover” and “In My Groove”. You won’t want to miss out on all the groovy vibes going on in this show.

Big Thief is no stranger to DC indie-rock fans and music critics alike. NPR Music named their song “Mary” one of the top songs of 2017 with NPR’s Bob Boilen saying their new album, Capacity, was his album of the year. Catch this indie-rock group at the Club this fall for an unforgettable show.

Novo Amor

If you’re looking for the perfect music to listen to on a crisp fall evening, look no further than the soothing sounds of Novo Amor. Originally from the Welsh mountains, he spent much of his early years as a camp music teacher in the Adirondacks of Upstate New York. Novo Amor’s falsetto voice paired with intricate arrangements will instantly take you to another place deep into the forest and escape from the hustle and bustle of DC.
