As we head into March, St. Paddy’s Day. Cherry Blossoms, and spring vibes get set to take over DC, but there’s a wide array of other fun things to do as well.

We’ve also got multiple restaurant weeks, art exhibits, history happy hours, and A-List music acts, plus festivals, races, spring social sports, and other excuses to spend as much time outside as possible (weather permitting).

Here’s what we’ve got circled on the #FrayLife calendar this month:

Thursday 3/1

– Phillips after 5 is a lively mix of art and entertainment, including live music and food that goes down the first Thursday of every month. March’s event will celebrate the work of artist Paul Klee and tickets tend to sell out.

Friday. 3/2

– Time is running out to catch Parallel Universe at Artechouse. The show ends 3/4, so this is your last chance for a Friday date night at the exhibit.

Saturday, 3/3

– The 2018 NHL Stadium Series is coming to the DMV when the Caps take on the Maple Leafs at Navy Stadium in Annapolis.  Keep an eye on our Instagram page the week before for your chance to WIN 2 FREE tickets!

– Celebrate Texas Independence Day at Atlas Brew Works with local beer, catering from Chuy’s Tex Mex, country music, raffle prizes, lawn games, and more.

– Meet some of the most important innovators and entrepreneurs from around DC’s food scene (and try their products) at Union Market. Tickets to Meet the Makers are limited and include various food and drink samples.

– The self-proclaimed  “greatest whiskey walk event in the history of the world” returns to Dupont for the 6th year. Whiskey Walk an epic bar tour that gives you the chance to enjoy 8 fine whiskeys, plus a whole lot more.

Sunday, 3/4

– Experience the absolute best ethnic cuisine the DMV has to offer with Around the World Restaurant Week. This week long celebration is hosted by the Around the World Cultural Festival runs through 3/11.

– Head over to the Wharf for Bikes, Baristas & Beers at District Hardware. Ride down the scenic Anacostia Trial to Vigilante Coffee in Hyattsville, then back to the Wharf for beers. The event is from 10am-1pm

– If you’d rather binge Netflix than leave the house, the new season of House of Cards drops Sunday 3/4.

Monday, 3/5

– Head over to Georgetown and beat away your Monday blues, literally, with Boxing Mondays at lululemon’s The Loft.

Wednesday, 3/7

– Learn about the history of influenza 100 years after the initial outbreak at an interactive evening at the Museum of Natural history. Tickets to Science of the Flu are free, but limited.

Thursday, 3/8

– Which team will represent the Atlantic 10 conference in the NCAA’s big dance? Find out when the A 10 Tournament takes over Capital One Arena for the entire weekend. Follow DC Fray on Instagram and be on the lookout for your chance to win tickets to the championship game!

– Sip wine for a good cause at the Embassy of Croatia. Croatian Wine Tasting fundraiser benefits the Association of Croatian American Profe and features wines from 3 regions, authentic cuisine, music and more.Tickets are $50.

– Celebrate International Women’s Day by paying homage to local artists. The Women in the Arts Pop Up Gallery will be at L2 Lounge in Georgetown from 6:30-10pm.

Friday, 3/9

– Tyson’s Sheraton Hotel is the home of the 7th annual DC Bluegrass Festival. Top regional and local acts will be on hand, and you can even jam out in the band competition for a chance to take home a cash prize.

Saturday, 3/10

– The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon has been hitting DC for 7 years and the 2018 edition promises to be the biggest in the event’s history. This year you’ll enjoy more on-course music and more community engagement as you tackle a 5K, half or full marathon.

– Buffalo Billiards is the home of DC Fray’s 2018 Spring Skeeball Tournament. Get decked out in your best March Madness gear, and come compete for bar sports glory.

– St. Patrick’s Day arrives a week early when the Ireland at the Wharf Festival comes to the Waterfront. The event goes down from 2-6pm and features a beer garden, Irish food favorites, live music, and more.

Sunday, 3/11

– DC’s annual St. Paddy’s Parade is a 3 hour celebration of all things Irish. Floats, marching bands, bagpipes players, dancing, and food. The parade starts at noon and runs along Constitution Ave.

– Trivia is hard. Bingo is fun. Come play for free and take home real prizes at Weekly Bar Bingo at O’Sullivan’s (hosted by DC Fray).

Friday, 3/16

– TJ Miller – Silicon Valley, Deadpool, Crashing – is bringing his well known comedy act to the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse for the weekend. There are two shows each on Friday and Saturday and tickets are just $35.

Saturday, 3/17

– Shamrock Fest is America’s largest St. Paddy’s Day Festival and it returns to RFK for the 19th year. Sum 41 and Shaggy head this year’s lineup and tickets start at just $34.99.

– Remember playing Hungry Hippos as a kid? Hungry Human Hippos on Ice is like that, but WAYY more fun. Grab your friends and compete for bragging rights (and prizes) in this adult take on a childhood favorite.

Sunday 3/18

– Fresh off of his Super Bowl Halftime performance, Justin Timberlake brings his dance moves to Capital One Arena.

Monday, 3/19

– It seems like every week is a restaurant week of some sort, and we’re ok with that as long as the food specials keep coming. Northern Virginia Restaurant Week hits town from 3/19 – 3/25.

Tuesday, 3/20

– First day of spring – get outside for some fresh air (assuming it’s not 30 and snowing).

– Speaking of spring, Tuesday, 3/30 is your last chance to sign up for spring social sports with DC Fray. Don’t get left on the sidelines, sign up before midnight to live your best life this spring.

Thursday, 3/22

– In honor of Women’s History Month, The March edition of the History Happy Hour will feature the Sisterhood of Spies. Hear the untold stories & harrowing accounts of history’s most famous female spies over cocktails at the International Spy Museum.

Friday 3/23

– If you love Giant Pandas and Cherry Blossoms, don’t miss Pandas, Smithsonian Arts and Pop Culture, and Memorials Weekend at the Memorial Mall.

– DAR Constitution Hall hosts this year’s Capital Comedy Festival. The show starts at 7pm and includes performances by Sommore, Arnez J, Don DC Curry, George Wallace, Tommy Davidson and George Willborn.

Saturday, 3/24

– Cherry Blossom season is upon us and it all starts with the Cherry Blossom Opening Ceremony. National performers will be on hand to welcome spring to DC and celebrate the anniversary of the gift of trees from Japan.

– Break out your best dress clothes and transport yourself south of the border when the Mexican Cultural institute hosts its annual Black Tie Fiesta. Tickets are $79 and get you a night of rich art, history, music, dance, food, and drinks.

– Demi Lovato and DJ Khaled come to Capital One Arena with tickets starting at just $50.

Sunday, 3/25

– Come for brunch, stay for the day party when Henny & Waffles comes to the Howard Theatre. All you can eat buffet, unlimited mimosas, live DJs, and $10 Hennessy cocktails.

Monday, 3/26

Tuesday, 3/27

– Mari Andrew is a writer, illustrator, and Instagram sensation. She’ll be at Sixth & I for Am I There Yet: The Loop-de-Loop, Zig-Zagging Journey to Adulthood, where she’ll be showing off her signature illustrations and essays from 7-8pm.
