7 DC Festivals You Don’t Want to Miss This Fall

There are many fun things to look forward to in and around DC this fall.
There’s the relief from 90+ degree days and the outdoor activities that come with it.
There are headlining concerts and major music events.
There’s the excitement for the Nationals playoff push and the arrival of football season.
And then there are festivals. Block parties, Oktoberfests, ethnic events, charity fundraisers, food and wine tastings...DC has it all. With so many options, narrowing down which festivals you want to attend can be a tough task, so we did it for you.
Here are 7 DC fall festivals that you don’t want to miss this year:
When: September 23, 7:30am - 3:30pm
Where: RFK Stadium Lot 7 Field
How Much: $20 – $49
The largest multi-day meditation and yoga festival in the world makes its way back to Washington D.C. this fall. Wanderlust 2017 features world-renowned meditation and yoga instructors, a 5k fueled by Adidas, live music, uplifting activities, organic eats, interactive exhibitions, and dance parties that will make you want to Namastay at the modern-day mindfulness celebration forever.
When: September 23, 1 - 6pm
Where: Yards Park
How Much: $60 (VIP); $35 (General Admission)
Hailed as DC’s most beastly beer festival, Snallygaster takes over Yards Park again this September. Featuring over 350 craft beers, DC’s best food trucks, live music and games, Snallygaster has, rightfully, earned its reputation as a monster of a beer festival. It also serves as the largest annual fundraiser for Arcadia, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a more equitable and sustainable local food system in our region.
When: September 24, 11am-4pm
Where: Georgetown Waterfront
How Much: $22-$44
Thousands will gather in Georgetown this fall for the 24th year in a row to eat, drink, and Sunday-Funday at the neighborhood block party hosted by Washingtonian magazine. Bounce from booth-to-booth with a beer in hand and explore the endless offerings from the neighborhood’s 30 best restaurants. With over 60 signature dishes, sips, and more at the outdoor food and drink festival, you’re guaranteed to find something fuFILLing at this food fest.
When: October 6-8
Where: Union Market
How Much: $69-$169
All Things Go Fall Classic returns for the fourth year in a row, looking bigger and better than ever before. The three-day, multi-genre music festival at Union Market will feature headliners Foster the People, Young Thug, Galantis, Bleachers, Vince Staples, Cashmere Cat, The Knocks, Betty Who, and more. In addition to the music, the festival will feature a foodie-friendly lineup of eats from some of the Districts best local establishments, along with interactive, 360-degree photo booths, a virtual reality lounge, and more.
When: October 14-15, 11am - 6pm
Where: Oronco Bay Park, Alexandria
How Much: $65 (VIP); $35 (General Admission)
Just like wine, the Virginia Wine Festival has gotten better with age. Now in its 42nd year, 2017 is shaping up to be the most exciting yet. VA’s top winemakers will serving up over 200 wines and ciders along the Alexandria Waterfront. As always, there will be food trucks galore, but there will also be a brand new VA Oyster Pavilion for your dining pleasure.
When: Saturday, November 4, 12 - 8pm
Where: Nationals Park
How Much: $45
If you’ve ever been to the DC Beer Festival, you know the deal. One day, two sessions, hundreds of beers, amazing food, lawn games, live DJs and more. The best local, regional and national brands will pouring their best fall releases and classic brews, making this the most can’t miss event at Nats Park during the offseason.
When: November 10-12
Where: Dock 5 @ Union Market

Calling all DMV foodies: The Emporiyum DC is back just in time before the holiday season kicks off making the transition into winter’s gluttony a lot easier for many! The one-of-a-kind food marketplace where you can meet, eat, and buy a lot of consumable things to stock your fridge and pantries with is back at Dock 5 and looking tastier than ever. Vendor highlights from the fall food fest’ include gourmet hot dogs from Swizzler, hangover soup from Prescription Chicken, and pizza from one of Bon Appetit's 'Best New Restaurants of 2017’ Timber Pizza Co.
