If you love music, the first week of October has quite a few festivals going on in DC and the surrounding areas.

Everyone loves a good festival full of awesome artists, food, beer, activities, and good people. Each of these festivals can offer all this and more. Regardless if you’re going to see your favorite artist or band perform, or looking to expand your taste in music, these festivals won’t disappoint.

Don’t spend this weekend sitting at home. Dance and sing your heart out to Carly Rae Jepsen and Betty Who, go wild at an early St Paddy’s Day celebration, or float down the river with awesome music playing at Sleepy Creek!

All Things Go Fall Classic – Oct. 6-7

This two day music festival happens at the historic Union Market. The festival will feature artists like Maggie Rogers, Billie Eilish, Carly Rae Jepsen, Betty Who, and more. Your ears will be satisfied from the diverse selection of musical artists, but your stomach will love the wide variety of food vendors that will be at the festival. One day tickets are $65, and two day tickets are $95.

#FrayLife Tip: Besides the awesome music and food, the festival will have other fun activities. In years past, there were slow motion photo booths, virtual reality lounges, and spray paint walls.

Festy Experience – Oct. 5-7

The 9th annual Festy Experience will take place at Infinity Downs in Arlington. Greensky Bluegrass, Rubblebucket, Railroad Earth, Sam Bush Band and other artists and groups will perform. Festy Experience makes for the perfect weekend full of good music, craft beer, delicious food, and fun outdoor activities. One day tickets are $56 and a weekend pass is $166.

#FrayLife Tip: Get your exercise in before having fun at the festival with the Burn 5K – 10K Run. Another fun outdoor activity that will be at the festival is disc golf!

Halfway to Shamrock Fest – Oct. 5

Who says you can’t celebrate St. Paddy’s day a wee bit early? This fest is a pre-celebration for the big Shamrock Fest in March. The lineup features DJ RI5SE, EPX, Chris Styles, and an Irish music band, The Shamrogues. The venue is Union Stage and doors open at 8 pm. We can’t think of a better way to spend a Friday night then to have an early celebration of St Paddy’s Day! Tickets are only $19.99.

Sleepy Creek Fest – Oct. 5-7

A just under two-hour drive is nothing when there’s a fun time to be had. Sleepy Creek HarFest is a three-day music festival in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia that boasts local and national musical artists, bonfire parties, food, jam circles, parades, and crafts. A few artists and bands that will be at the festival are Larry Keel Experience, Pap & Po, Kick & Banjo, and Strung Like a Horse. A Friday-Sunday ticket is $75.

#FrayLife Tip: When you’re not listening to music, feel free to hit the water. You are allowed to go in the river and creek at your own risk. This event is also BYOB, so make sure you come prepared!
