Bike to the Beach DC 2021
We are riding to Dewey Beach to support BOTH Local and National autism and disABILITY non-profits. This socially distanced ride has four (4) distances: 25 mile, 50, mile, 70 and 100 miles — each end at the beach. We also have a great virtual option!
Whether you are into road touring or leisure riding, a seasoned cyclist or a beginner, our Bike to the Beach charity ride is the perfect event for you. Our ride is fully supported with rest stops (spaced an average of 15-miles apart), bike mechanics, Support and Gear (SAG) vehicles, and a route marked with turn-signs and road markings.
// What We Provide
We provide all of the food, water, and ride support needed to the beach. Our riders even receive a custom Bike to the Beach jersey — all you have to bring to the starting line is your road-ready bike, bike shorts, and helmet (and we have bike rentals available)!
Join us to have fun, undertake a challenge, make friends, and bike to a beach destination, all while supporting the autism and disABILITY community.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, Bike to the Beach remained flexible and diligent to create safe and effective events. Using scientifically proven methods to mitigate the spread of the virus, we were able to host safe, socially distanced events.
Cleaning & Sanitation
From the starting line, to every rest stop and the finish line, the entire event is equipped with cleaning supplies and stations. Event volunteers and workers diligently adhere to the strictest of cleaning methods and schedules.
Personal Protection Equipment
Riders and event volunteers are provided with reusable Bike to the Beach masks and personal hand sanitizing bottles.
We have created procedures to make the transfer of items easy and safe. Rider packets are mailed and food and drink at rest stops and prizes at the finish line are all distributed with contactless pick-up options.
Socially Distanced Event
The nature of an outdoor bike ride already lends itself to safe, social distancing. As added precautions we focus on times and locations where riders are not spread out across the route. We have implemented rolling starts, designated rest stops and modified finish line celebrations to keep our riders safe.
