2020 National Health Through Fitness Day
Every year, SFIA’s National Health Through Fitness Day brings together industry leaders, celebrity athletes, the American College of Sports Medicine, PHIT Coalition partners, PE teachers and other physical activity advocates to meet with Congress to push for physical activity policies, including the PHIT Act, to promote sports health and fitness in America.
The time is NOW to harness the positive momentum behind the PHIT Act and urge Congress to promote health by eliminating barriers to physical activity to address the inactivity pandemic plaguing America.
Help keep the pressure on Congress. Spread the word to #PassPHIT!
This year, the following athletes have already pledged to attend:
-Hershel Walker (Heisman Trophy Winner)
-John Booty (Former NFL player)
-Ken Harvey (4x Pro Bowler)
-Santana Moss (1x All-Pro/Pro-Bowler)
-Andrew Ferrence (Stanley Cup Winner)
-Paul Rabil (2x MLL MVP, Founder of Premier Lacrosse League)
-Eric Byrnes (Former MLB Player, Analyst for MLB Network)
With more celebrity athletes expected to attend, we hope to inspire people across the nation to stand up and #GetPHIT! We want more families and individuals across America to play sports and stay physically active, which is why we are working to alleviate the cost to participate. Through the Personal Health Investment Today (PHIT) Act, families will have the opportunity to use their HSA and/or FSA to cover activity-related expenses. With over 100+ bipartisan congressional cosponsors, we believe 2020 is our year to pass PHIT. We hope that you can join us on March 10-11 to help pass the PHIT Act.
