Hi Fray Family,
As the situation in DC changes, we are committed to providing necessary communication updates regarding the status of our leagues. First and foremost, we want to thank you for being a part of our community and our commitment to Make Fun Possible. Our community, our staff (both full- and part-time), and our mission are at the core of our decisions during this difficult time, even more so as a small business.
Following the announcement of additional closings from Mayor Bowser, DC Fray will postpone our late winter and spring leagues, starting March 16.
This is a tough decision as we wanted to create a space for positivity and normalcy; however, we understand the changing severity of the situation. It is still our intention to find a way to help you build community, as we work to innovate ways to bring the community together digitally. (stay tuned!)
As we work to support our players and staff we are also looking for ways to support other small businesses throughout this process. If you are part of a small business that has been impacted, please let us know at [email protected]. We will compile innovative and creative opportunities to have fun as well as the ways small businesses are coming together to support their communities and their staff at www.districtfray.com in the coming days.
Here at Fray we have 6 core values that guide all we do, including our actions during this time.
Fun – Find the play in each day.
Gratitude – Appreciate all that you have. Express it often and generously.
Positivity – Being happy does not come from doing well, doing well comes from being happy and finding positivity in life.
Courage – To be candid, open, and honest, and live a life aligned to your values.
Innovation – To embrace change and make things better.
Community – To leverage our collective might. To do great things together and to look out for one another.
We’re in this together, and we know that by working together and supporting one another we will have a positive ripple effect for our community.
Below are more details about both our currently running and scheduled leagues.
Late Winter Leagues
We want to assure you that we plan to finish play for our late winter leagues when it is safe to do so and we will communicate with you directly to notify you of updates. This is not a cancellation, only a postponement. If your league hasn’t started, this is your chance to get fit with squats and push-ups (in small groups, please). If your league is in play, we’ll keep standings and scores and will resume play in a few weeks.
Early Spring // Spring Leagues
For our players who have registered in our spring leagues, we will postpone the kickoff of our spring season until mid-April and we will notify all players and teams with specific locations, timing details, and other pertinent information for each league in the coming week.
While we don’t know when, the experts agree that these measures will pass. Right now it’s all about flattening the curve. When items begin to reopen It’ll be important that we all jump back in as quickly as possible to the things that build our community and connect us to each other. During this time, our registration process will stay open to allow others to join your team or group. Once we know more, we will provide you and the community with an update on any official start dates.
We are working hard to provide our community with both options and opportunities, heading into the spring season. Please check your email often as things continue to shift. Our promise to you is that our leagues will play when it is safe to do so. We’ll innovate as needed to make sure we are helping you make fun possible.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with us. It’s hard, we know, but doing this together will bring us through to the other side.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]. We are here and will continue to support the local community and Fray Family as best we can.
